Pinetop White Mountain Blog

Hello Everyone,

I know it's been a while since I had written anything to you but this week was an interesting one.  Not that anything wonderful happened in the Real Estate world, but life has a funny way of turning what might appear to be a negative thing in to something positive and something to be thankful for.

In honor of the upcoming holiday I wanted to share my week with you.  It started out okay but nothing to get excited about.  But then on Wednesday I attended a Business Luncheon and the topic of the day was being Thankful for our customers, clients, and our staff, and saying Thank you for their continuing support and loyalty.  It was interesting to hear how different business people show their gratitude for the people in their lives who help them make their businesses successful. possible.  I loved the thought and so decided to use today's post to do just that.

First I want to thank all of you who visit my website regularly and read my blog posts.  I know sometimes I'm down in the dumps and not particularly upbeat, but that is life.  Life sometimes deals us hands we don't want which leads me in to my next segment.

The day after the luncheon I was busily sending out emails with properties that might be of interest to some of my prospects and wham, the MLS Server decides to have a major glitch and what was intended to be an email to only one person ended up being sent to everyone in my address book.  I was so upset I almost cried.  Somehow due to a server error, I had just sent an email to everyone in my address book with information they had not asked for or wanted.  I was sick about it.  It was too late to pull it back, that is one of those times when I absolutely hate computers, and I just knew it was going to spur a flurry of emails and phone calls from people who were  upset about it.

The interesting part was that although there were a few people who got upset, the majority of the responses I got were positive ones.  People who were in my address book who might have been past clients or customers, or perhaps people I had spoken to a time or two about Real Estate but hadn't heard from in years were there, on my email, telling me I had made a mistake and they just wanted to make sure that the fellow I had sent that email to got it.  Out of a bad thing, the majority of those people were actually glad to hear from me and some who I had truthfully written off as having lost interest in Real Estate were still interested and again inspired to either list their properties or start searching again.

So for this year I am going to say thank you for the reminder that out of bad things sometimes good things follow, and to thank all of you who visit me regularly and read my ramblings even if they don't always carry a positive message.  I am thankful for all the wonderful people  who kept me in the back of their minds and were kind enough to tell me I had made a mistake and that it was okay, they still remembered me kindly and wanted to continue our association.  Most of all I want to thank my family for standing by me and loving me no matter what.  My wish for you all is that you have a warm and fuzzy holiday with those you love and remember to tell them thanks for being there, because in the end they are the ones who truly matter the most.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Until next time....
