Good Friday Afternoon Eveyone,

School is out for the summer and the Mountain Summer Season is about to begin.  Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of the High Country Activities.  To find out what is happening in the community on any given weekend, check out the Chambers of Commerce Links on the Community Information Tab on the opening screen of this site. 

On other issues, we had a bit of rain yesterday and the day before but conditions in the forest on the mountain are very dry and dangerous.  This week the Forest Service banned any open campfires in campsites.  Navajo County instituted their ban on any kind of open fires, campfires, or smoking anywhere in the White Mountain area except inside of a close vehicle or a structure.  We have already had one fire scare with the fire down near White River, we certainly don't want any more.

We love our summer visitors but please take care with fire and smoking materials, if you burn us up where will you go to escape the summer heat in the low lands?
